Introduction to ME :D

1. Why did you choose GCSE Media Studies?
2. Which part of the course are you looking forward to most?
3. What knowledge and skills do you hope to learn in Media?
4. What grade are you realistically hoping to achieve in Media?
5. What was the last TV programme or film you watched?
6. Why do you think that TV programme or film appealed to an audience?
7. What technology have you used to access the media in the last 24 hours? (Radio, TV, phone etc.)
8. What device do you use most to access the media?
9. What is the main news story on the BBC News website currently? Why do you think it is the main story?
10. What is the main news story on the Guardian website (guardian.co.uk) currently? Why do you think it is the main story?

1. I chose Media because I thought that I would enjoy it and I wanted to do something creative as I did Geography for the whole of year 9 and I hated it.

2. I'm most looking forward to making the music video.

3. I hope to increase my photography skills as I already like taking photos.

4. I'd like to at least get a B, but I'm hopeful that I'll get an A.

5. The last film I watched was the Wizard of Oz because I read a rumour that there was a hanging person in the background of one of the scenes so I wanted to see if it was true.

6. Because it's a classic film and it's a musical and people like musicals.

7. My ipod....And the radio because my mum turned it on this morning hoping it would stop me falling back to sleep.

8. My ipod and my laptop.

9. 'Judges concern at Cameron's comments'. 'The judge in the phone hacking trial considered halting proceedings following David Cameron's comments on the
conviction of Andy Coulson.' I think this is the top story because the phone hacking
has been going on for ages and also, David Cameron is the Prime Minister so when
someone like a judge is concerned about him, that can be a big deal.

10. 'Fifa has opened disciplinary proceedings against the Uruguay striker Luis Suárez
after he appeared to bite Italy's Giorgio Chiellini.'
I think this is the top story because the guardian isn't as formal as the BBC news and
it's a less formal story too. Also, Suarez has bitten someone before so for him to do
it again would be seen as a big deal.
